Few decades ago, Islamic Banking and Finance services industry emerged, seemingly, as a mere alternative financial intermediation platform for Muslim communities to carry on their financial transaction in a manner that is compliant

to their religious dictates. However, the industry has universally carved a niche for itself breaking regional, continental and religious bareers to become a crutial part of even the world leading economies.

Meanwhile, the practice over the years have shown that the emerging financial system has continued to encounter both legal and legislative bottleneck in most of the countries where it is being operated. This is aside from the constraints imposed by the philosophies of the existing economic and financial system. Yet, the lawmakers and economist of those nations, especially the developed ones, are reluctant to attune to the changes in the global financial paradigm.

The Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin-Nigeria and the Islamic Training and Research Institute, Saudi Arabia have, thus, felt the need to organize this conference to provide a platform for scholars, academics, lawyers, lawmakers, economists, policy maker, accounting and finance experts and other interested participants to exhange expertise and thoughtful ideas on various topics of the conference.
