The Graduate Leadership Council, Kennedy Political Union and Student Government at American University are pleased to announce our call for Presentation Proposals, Papers, Films, Posters and other Research forms, for our 1st Annual Interdisciplinary Conference "Urban Transformations: Public, Private Practices of Social Change."
The conference themes include: Public and Private Governance; Gentrification and Urban Renewal; Public Health and Environmental Justice; and Sexual Identity and Citizenship.
This interdisciplinary conference is intended to bring students, faculty and activists from around the country into a critical discussion of the state of local, national and international cities. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research on panels with active and engaging audiences.
We welcome activists, scholars, community-based organizations and other agents of change to engage in this critical discussion. Call for Presentation Proposals, Papers, Films, Posters and Alternative Research Forms are due by January 15th 2009.
